Laila graduated from the IB program at Berkeley High School, where she was a photographer for the BHS Jacket and a defender on the Yellowjackets field hockey team. Outside of school, she was a YMCA Youth & Government delegate, volunteered at the Berkeley Food and Housing Project and enjoyed oil painting at a local art studio. Laila, who emigrated from Morocco as a child, plans to explore her many academic interests before deciding on a major. She will be the first in her family to attend college.
