January is National Mentoring Month (NMM)! The campaign was launched in 2002 by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership to promote and celebrate youth mentoring. During this month, various organizations participate in activities to thank and honor mentors for their dedication and commitment to their mentees. According to the National Mentoring Partnership, research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations.
We believe in the power of mentoring and want to ensure that our young people are receiving a community-based network of personal support, information and resources to succeed in college and beyond. Here at BCF, we are grateful for all of our mentors that continue to support our scholars. We want to honor our mentors this month and say THANK YOU! We appreciate all that you do!
If you would like to make a long-lasting impact and become a mentor, please fill out the Mentor Interest Form.
