Lychou came to the US from Cambodia in the ninth grade and is part of the student senate at Berkeley High representing English learners. She has been a teacher assistant for middle school students through the YouthWorks program and also participated in the R.I.S.E. afterschool program. Lychou is the first person in her family to attend high school and college. She hopes to become a teacher.
