Living my childhood in Mexico and growing up as a teenager in the U.S. has made me the person I am today. The experiences and obstacles I have faced made me determined to pursue my dreams of being the first one in my family to graduate from college and make them proud. I know I will face a lot of challenges but I know they will not be as difficult as seeing your own family doubt you. I will keep working hard, not to prove anyone wrong but to prove to myself I’m able to do anything I set my mind to as well as to show the American Dream is possible to fulfill with perseverance and determination. With the education I hope to obtain, I plan to be a future economist who will better my community by giving financial advice to families who have never had access to such resources. What I hope everyone remembers about me is that I have never given up on my goals, no matter how great the challenges.
