Nia, who will be a first generation college student, plans to buildon the skills she acquired in the BHS Communication Arts and Sciences program. She wants to major in Communications and Media Studies because she is passionate about changing how the media portray women and marginalized people. While at BHS, she created a professional grade campaign video for a Richmond school board candidate (he won), was secretary of the BHS chapter of BuildOn, and co-founded Girls Group, a club that focuses on analyzing the media’s portrayal of women.
