Sandy is graduating from the IB program at Berkeley High School (BHS) and will be the first in her family to attend college. She is a member of the Y-Scholars Program, where her leadership led to an award as “Student of the Year.” Sandy helped form a group called “Peer Adviser Leader” (PAL) which helps 9th grade students transition successfully into high school and into the Y-Scholars community. She is interested in pursuing Latin American and Latino Studies at UCSC.
