Yakira participated in the Bridge program at Berkeley High School, was an intern with the Tobacco Use Prevention Education Program (TUPE) and is a reading buddy for kindergarteners at Washington Elementary. Yakira will be the first person in her family to attend college. She is interested in child psychology and would like a career helping children get through traumatic events in their lives.
